I really fear the trolling and flaming that might happen in this thread but meh.

I argued with my teacher today about how he think's he will have a eternal life just because he believes in Jesus and the whole god thing. He was also ignorant enough to tell me god started life on earth directly when science has proven a few things that allowed life on earth.

1) The "Goldilocks or Habitable zone" where we are the right distance away from the sun for life.
2) The meteor that crashed into our earth which gave it the spin it has today for day/night and seasons.
3) The same meteor that then formed into our moon which causes our tidal pulls (high tide, low tide) which is a huge building block for life to develop.


Now please read this before you crazy religious people start flaming and trying to prove that their is a god read below this.

I'm not saying their cannot be a god because it is not provable either way (So far with current technology at least) i mean their could be a creator.... but these catholics and Christians who truly believe their man made up god is real is pathetic.

That would also be interesting to see... if (and when) we find advanced life on another planet and they have their own crazy gods and religions then that really could just show us that all religion is made up.( Unless in fact they have a religion that is identical to ours)

I mean really the 10 commandments? If god created life he would have no foreknowledge of what humans involved into and our terms such as killing, and stealing(Which are terms from a MAN MADE language) would be unknown to him.

And the commandment "Thou shall have no other gods before me" is completely fucked because that proves god is jealous(Which of course jealousy is another human term and trait) and if their is a single god how can we have any others before him?

All religions are completely fucked including atheism. Their very well could have been a creator but nothing that we can imagine or come to terms with and certainly nothing that any of the earths religions have suggested.

AND I'M NOT EVEN GOING TO GET INTO STRING OR MEMBRANE THEORY BECAUSE NOT MANY PEOPLE CAN COME TO TERMS WITH THEIR BEING INFINITES COPIES OF OUR UNIVERSE OR INFINITE NUMBERS OF YOU AND ALL MATTER.

Like everyone else said. Religion started off nothing more than a way to explain the unexplainable. Like everything else though, people found ways to profit off of it. Do you really think the "sun" would ask for peoples money? No, there is no way.

Religion holds power in government, money, and various aspects. If people really believe they can go home beat their wives, then go to church and ask god to forgive their sins they are absolutely looney.

People use religion as a scape goat, it's a fear factor. They are afraid that if they don't follow such a thing, they will go to imaginary places such as hell and heaven.

You'd think society would realize by now how corrupt religion is, but they don't. They are too stupid and in denial that religion could be a fake.

let people think what they want to think about religion. no reason to argue as neither sides can win, so you both look dumb.

This is an ignorant response. Why ? If I take a weapon and beat my mother over the head a couple of times her brain will be exposed. Thus proving that there is a brain.

In other words, the brain exists. In some shape, way and or form we can see the brain - if we must. You cannot stab a jesus doll and see jesus. There is no absolute way to see jesus, it's faith. You "believe" he's there, but you cannot physically prove anything. We can physically prove a person has a brain.

#29 You can prove the Bible wrong. While it may be a belief of a religion, you cannot totally discard the religion just because they have a belief that has been proved untrue. Just because we know how the earth was formed, etc, doesn't mean we know for a fact there isn't a God nor that Jesus was the son of God.

Don't get me wrong, I don't believe in religion. But, if having a factual conversation, religion can have no part in it. It is of personal opinion and anyone who speaks in absolutes on the subject is as foolish as the person across the line voicing the contrary.
